Bruce preps for new action movie

Most of this movie will be filmed in Gauteng with several scenes done in Durban.

Local actor, producer and director, Bruce Gounder, is in the process of muscle building for his upcoming action movie: Street Warrior.

Gounder explains that the movie is expected to be of a similar nature to Hollywood’s popular Bad Boys movies and Beverly Hills Cop.

“It is a very challenging process, because I haven’t done a movie like this before and there is a lot of physical activities,” he said.

“I need to get into my character and be physically fit to do all this, so I have started going to the gym every day.”

“Everyone knows I usually deal with comedies so this is going to be something very different.”

“I have to be more serious in my role, but I am very excited to start working on this.”

In the next few months, the movie production team will be on the lookout for MMA fighters, bodybuilders, bouncers, cage fighters and more for various roles.

“We want to show people that we can also make Hollywood type movies and challenge ourselves,” said Gounder.

“We want to show versatility, our local stunning locations and give screen time to our South African talents as well as welcome international actors to the production.”

Gounder explained that as an actor, he is grateful that Covid-19 restrictions are now easing as it restricted people in this industry from going forward with productions such as this one.

“Many people couldn’t travel to locations to shoot, and staff on set were always limited.”

“Now we can hopefully go back to a new norm,” he added.

Production is expected to begin around June and July.
