Drug bust leads to arrests

Margate Saps rapid response and drug teams held an operation at the Margate taxi rank which resulted in the arrest of five men, aged between 26 and 30 recently.

Heroin capsules and pieces of rock cocaine were confiscated.

Police spokesman Sergeant Sibu Ncane said they were charged for possession of and dealing in drugs.

The suspects appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court recently and the case has been postponed to April 7.

Margate station commander Brigadier William Slabbert thanked members for the ongoing arrests and recoveries, as well as the public for their assistance in providing information.
