Kidnapping of child (6) from Marina Beach ‘domestic related’

A security company and Southport Saps greatly assisted the family during the ordeal.

Police have confirmed that the alleged kidnapping of a child from Marina Beach last Saturday, was a ‘domestic related’ incident.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said it appeared the incident was domestic-related, where the father took the child without the mother’s consent or knowledge.

“A security company and Southport Saps greatly assisted the family to reunite her with the child. No case was opened. No arrests were made,” he confirmed.

Lazer 911 Security Control Centre reported that it responded to an alert on the emergency crime group of a kidnapping in Marina Beach, where a six-year-old child was taken.
The details of the vehicle used in the kidnapping were circulated to all Lazer 911 Security response units.
Working from a tip off, the Lazer response officers found the vehicle inside chalets in Umzumbe.
The Saps was informed and attended to the matter, finding the child unharmed.
