Man nabbed for woman’s murder

On seeing police he fled from his home into nearby bushes where he was chased and arrested.

A man (39) who brutally killed a woman in KwaMakhutha, near Amanzimtoti, was nabbed by members of the Port Shepstone Tactical Response team, Margate detectives and law enforcement in Mlahlandlini, Gcilima last Thursday.

According to provincial police spokesman, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, police followed-up on information on the man’s whereabouts to Gcilima.

On seeing police he fled from his home into nearby bushes where he was chased and arrested.

The man was detained at Margate Saps and later transferred to KwaMakhutha Saps.

The man was linked to the killing of Anele Bhengu (21) who was stabbed multiple times at Hill area in KwaMakhutha on June 13.

He is expected to appear in the Umbumbulu Magistrate’s Court soon.
