The South Coast has had almost a week of unrest due to residents not being supplied water.

Earlier today, about 300 protesters from Nyandezulu, Bomela and Betania marched to Izotsha robots where they burnt tyres and destroyed the traffic lights.

The Southcoast Mall was also closed for most of the day.

Protest action which started on Tuesday this week has led to large scale damage of property as buildings and vehicles, including four trucks were set ablaze in Izingolweni.

Looting continued today (Thursday) in the Izingolweni CBD where a large group of people have broken and ransacked business premises.

Twenty suspects have been arrested so far for the business burglary.

Reports coming through are saying that Izingolweni is currently a no-go zone.
