Missing woman Jabu Grace Sikhosana has been positively identified by her family after her body was found at Nositha area in Margate.
Police spokesman Colonel Thembeka Mbele said the deceased had no visible injuries, and an inquest docket has been opened at Margate police station for investigation.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The matter is still under investigation.
Earlier this month Port Shepstone Saps appealed for assistance in locating Miss Sikhosana from Mgangeni Ward, Mthwalume.
She had gone missing at a shopping centre in Shelly Beach on Saturday, January 23, 2021.
Jabu Sikhosana was last seen wearing a black skirt and jersey with a red beret.
It is also alleged that she suffered periods of amnesia.
