Wade Kilian (24), better known as ‘Snake-man’, is Crocworld Conservation Centre’s newly appointed reptile curator.
Reptiles have always been a part of his life and Wade recalls how his fascination and love for these creatures began around the age of six when he received a brown house snake for his birthday.
His passion for snakes and reptiles grew after attending a venomous snake-handling course by snake expert, Arno Naudé.
Wade will manage the conservation’s reptile department and see to the needs of its residents which include many snakes, tortoises, crocodiles, a frog and scorpion.
He will be simultaneously studying towards his advanced diploma in nature conservation.
When he is given the opportunity, Wade enjoys travelling southern Africa in search of new species and adventures.
