NSRI thanked the numerous callers for their vigilance and for their concern.

NSRI Shelly Beach were alerted to eye-witness reports suggesting a boat flashing lights appearing to be an SOS signal towards the shore, off-shore between Ramsgate and Southbroom.

NSRI Shore crew were dispatched to investigate.

Jeremiah Jackson, NSRI Shelly Beach station commander said they confirmed that a local fishing vessel were fishing off-shore of the Ramsgate Ski-Boat Club.

“Their deck lights gave land observers the false impression of flashing lights as their boat rolled up and down with the normal sea swells but they were all well, fishing and they required no assistance.”

NSRI thanked the numerous callers for their vigilance and for their concern.
