South Coast music duo, Kwazi Bee and Puzzle, are gearing up to finally release their debut album ‘High Life’.

Kwazi Bee (real name Kwazi Beltrutti) and Puzzle (real name Seluleko Nhleko) both hail from KwaNzimakwe.

They began rapping at a young age.

“I started rapping as a child, I was maybe 12 years old, but I really started getting serious about it from 2014 and we formed the duo two years ago,” said Kwazi Bee.

Puzzle began his rapping career when he was in primary school.

The journey to releasing their album began in 2019 when the individual artists decided to work together.

Success came almost instantly and they won the national #FactShine Talent Search, presented by Fact Durban Rocks, which featured the likes of DJ Tira, Prince Bulo and Chad White.

“We made up a song titled ‘Let Me Up’ which we followed up with another one called Ziwal’edustini which went viral in our ‘hood. We then submitted Ziwal’edustini to the FactShine Talent Search that we ended up winning and were given the opportunity to perform at the Fact Durban Rocks 2019 Festival,” explained Puzzle.

Ziwal’edustini was then re-mastered by Prince Bulo of Afrotainment as part of the prize, which also included a short course with DJ Tira where she helped groom and prepare the young rappers for the music industry.

Ziwal’edustini is currently playlisted on Ukhozi FM and various other radio stations.

“We also entered Zakwe’s KZN Lockdown Cypher, and have a competition track with Zakwe and Musiholiq, titled Phakama, which won us an international distribution deal from Content Connect Africa (CCA),” said Kwazi Bee.

“You can expect tunes of all kinds, including hip-hop mixed genres, soft RnB, hip-hop vibes, gospel hip-hop, hardcore rap, trap, trapsoul, kasi rap and more, to suit everyone’s tastes,” he added.

Although a release date has not been finalised, both rappers hinted that the album could be ready by March.

They said how much they would appreciate the support of all South Coasters.

“We’re not just looking to for people to download our music, we are also looking for sponsorship and support. We don’t have a manager but we are open to working with someone who’s ready to assist and who will be serious in helping us reach the top together,” said Kwazi Bee.

Ziwal’edustini is a available for download on all digital platforms. And watch out for Jezebel, their latest single.
