THE CLASSIC CAR MUSEUM
The Classic Car Museum bug bit Oliver Broome at sixteen, his father bought him a 1968 Ford Escort Mark 1 race car. One car led to another and 25 years later Oliver’s collection has grown to over 50 classics cars now housed at Oliver’s East Coast Classics Museum.
The cars which cover the period 1950 – 1990 range from a 1950 VW Beetle , versions of the iconic VW split window kombi, 1956 Ford Ranchero wagon, 1961 Cadillac, Ford Sierra Cotsworth right up to the 1980’s with a selection of BMW’s including a rare 333i and an Alpina.
Oliver’s first love is classic race cars and on show is the 1966 SA Championship winning Ford Mustang (ex: Basil Van Rooyen) and a pair of Opel Super boss driven by Mike Biggs to win the SA championship in 1991/2.
The Museum which has a large display of auto memorabilia also hosts the Chome Bumper Café.
