Scottburgh’s Iziko African Radio is officially on the air

The online radio station hit the airwaves on September 1 and had already garnered a number of listeners prior to its official launch.

Iziko African Radio, based at Scottburgh Mall and established by Scelo Mfeka with the help of Bongani Cele, celebrated its official launch with a party at the Scottburgh Mall parking lot recently.

Traditional dancers, Amabekezela, give a spectacular performance.

Iziko’s main aim is to entertain and empower youth on the South Coast.

“Now that we have officially launched, we hope that the municipality, businesses and communities will work with us in making our radio station a source of information that everyone can rely on,” said spokesman, Zandile Myaka.

Comedian, dancer and artist “Msi” puts in a five-star performance.

“We thank everyone who contributed towards making the launch a success, with special thanks to Scottburgh Mall, Umdoni Municipality and the artists and performers who made the day an unforgettable one.”

The entertainment lineup included familiar faces such as Nqobile Mbandlwa, Amaviyo, Bahubhe, Phumlani Gumede, Sphamandla Msomi, Sphelele Shazi, Thwasa lekhansela, and Sbhomane.

Gospel artist, TK Gasa performs at the launch.
