Pro golfer injured in N2 collision near Southport

Pieter Moolman had been playing in a pro tournament at the Wild Coast.

Five people were killed in two separate accidents last weekend.

Last Friday, one person died and two others sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision on the N2 in the Southport area.

When emergency services arrived, they found that one person had sustained critical injuries.

The patient’s condition deteriorated and paramedics started resuscitation efforts. However, despite all efforts, the patient was declared dead at the scene.

The injured patients, Pieter Moolman – a professional golfer who had been playing in a pro tournament at the Wild Coast – and Sasha-Lee Roestorff were taken to hospital.

“Pieter suffered lots of bruising on the right side of his body. I have torn ligaments and whiplash,” said Ms Roestorff.

The couple has returned home to Johannesburg.
