LAZER 911 celebrates 30 years of keeping the community safe

The company is arguably one of the most recognisable on the South Coast.

From humble beginnings in Victory Road three decades ago, LAZER 911 has grown to be one of the leading – and most visible – security companies on the South Coast.

The welfare of the community has always been the company’s core focus and it’s this special bond with the people it serves that has helped it become the household name it is today.

Such is LAZER 911’s dedication to the South Coast that it offers 24-hour assistance to everybody – client or not – who finds themselves in need of help in an emergency.

Over the years, LAZER 911 has partnered with other leading role-players in the security industry, including Law Enforcement, SAPS, Scorpions, various CPFs and other local security companies in an effort to fight crime effectively.

The company’s vision is to see these partnerships grow to the extent that they are all seen as one, and with one intention – to fight crime and provide a safe environment for everyone to live in.

LAZER 911 is proud to have its professionalism recognised at the highest level and has been nominated to provide covert protection for international VIPs, dignities and government officials, including state president. Cyril Ramaphosa on various occasions.

Community

“Once again I want to pay tribute to our community for the trust and support shown to us over the past 30 years,” said Basil Lanka.

“LAZER 911 has played an integral part in he response to every disaster which has occurred on the South Coast,  from floods to water crises and civil unrest.

“We take our place at charity drives, community upliftment projects, welfare support groups and religious events. At the moment we are concentrating on reaching out to the many left destitute by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I also want to thank all those who have reached out to join us in the fight against this crisis. Our mission continues,” he said.

Projects

LAZER 911 has recently undertaken the safekeeping and management of the Oslo Beach park, Hope Park and North Road beaches.

“These areas have seen major ongoing progress,” explained Basil. “Our Hope Community Police Station is nearing completion. Thanks to all who partnered with us in this project, which will be jointly run by LAZER 911 and the community.

“It will serve the entire community free of charge in terms of rapid response to crime-related issues. Volunteers are free to contact us for early induction and training,” he said.

Expansion

Adding to its already impressive list of services, the company has launched its own Medical Rescue Unit which comprises rapid response units and ambulances.

“We felt the need for this in our community, and so it was done,” said Basil. “In the short time since we began offering this service,  we have already saved several lives and responded quickly to a number of accidents and emergencies, including a successful home delivery, with both mom and baby doing well.”

Basil added that a fire and rescue division was also on the cards, which will form the backbone of LAZER 911’s  disaster management response.

“For the safety of our community we have expanded our covert camera network at strategic points. Our sniper cameras are linked directly to NaTIS and we can identity stolen vehicles immediately.”

Basil concluded by saying that LAZER 911 planned to investigate and implement every technology possible to make the South Coast safe and secure for generations to come.

“To our clients – this tribute goes to you. Without you we cannot give, so thank you all for the continued and valued support. Stay safe.”
