UPDATE: Covid-19 hotspots identified in Ugu District

The district has 2 683 confirmed cases of the virus, as of today (Tuesday, July 28).

Port Shepstone, Gamalakhe, Margate, Murchison, Nzimakhwe, Harding and Scottburgh are the Covid-19 hotspots in the Ugu District.

This information was released by KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala earlier this week. He also stated the province has taken over as the Covid-19 epicentre in the country.

As of today, Tuesday, July 28,  KwaZulu-Natal has 65 982 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the Department of Health.

Of these, 37 613 are active with 1 939 new cases confirmed today.

Some 685 people have died from the disease in the province.

The recovery rate is 27 682.

The total number of screenings done is  9 467 946 and 195 860 tests have been conducted.
