Brothers, Raymond and Brian arrived on the coast from Gauteng and Richard’s Bay respectively on Tuesday this week in a quest to find out why their brother’s case appeared to have been shelved.

Raymond said they were told that the autopsy had revealed death by drowning so the case was closed.

But after he requested that the case be re-investigated, it was reopened in June 2019.

Raymond said that the family had still not received a copy of Edward’s autopsy report, nor any updates from the investigating officers.

Disappointed at how their brother’s case had been handled so far, they spent most of Tuesday at Port Shepstone police station in an attempt to get answers.

He said the station was very apologetic, and had promised to follow up.

“In our hearts, we know it was not a natural death. We want it to be investigated,” added Raymond.

No response was received from the police at the time of going to press.
