Tuning In: Help wrap it up for the SPCA

The SPCA requires volunteers for the wrapping of Christmas presents at the Scottburgh Mall.

The Italian Club is holding a New Year’s Eve dinner and dance on Tuesday, December 31 at 8pm for 8.30pm. A three-course meal will be served. Cost is R 150 per person or R140 for club members. The SPCA requires volunteers for the wrapping of Christmas presents at the Scottburgh Mall. The times and dates are as follows: December 12 to16 from 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm. December 17 to 24 from 9am-2pm and 2pm-7pm. Please contact Adele at 082 0676487 if you can assist.

Father Christmas will be visiting Penn Valley today, Saturday, December 21, and handing out Christmas presents to children. Face painting, a jumping castle, a slip and slide and a host of other fun activities will be on offer. The vegetable project is up and running at the Impithi kiosk.  R100 is required for the deposit on the box. Fill up the box with various vegetables on a Saturday morning from 9am for just R50. Bring the empty box back the following week and do it all over again. For more information on the vegetable project, call 066 3715631.

If you have nothing to do on a Sunday, join Myrun Umdoni Park. Registration can be completed online. Timing bands can be collected from the bottom car park at Umdoni Golf Club.

I know the community will join me in sending condolences to the family and friends of Mike Adams, who passed away recently.

The Pennington community is once again grateful to Cavell Deall and Fanark Mpisani for fixing the potholes on the Dolphin Drive/R102 intersection. Their work has held up, despite the recent heavy rains.

Pennington Crime Watch members held a successful market day on Sunday, December 15. A word of thanks goes to the committee, patrol, response members and community for their support. A whopping 55kgs of wors was sold.
