Family day for Amy to raise funds for bone graft

Her mother, Chantell Frazer said the operation will be done in Pretoria with Amy expected to remain in hospital for three days.

Friends and family of Amy Frazer will hold a fund-raiser at the Crusaders Wild Coast clubhouse on Saturday, August 31 from 12pm.

Amy, now aged 14, was born with a cleft lip and palate and will be undergoing a third operation on October 1, where a bone graft will be done to close her hard palate.

Her mother, Chantell Frazer said the operation will be done in Pretoria with Amy expected to remain in hospital for three days.

An additional two operations are required to complete the process.

“Amy had two operations before she was one year old. Her first operation was done when she was nine months old where they closed her lip and nose,” said Chantell.

She explained that their medical aid only covered 80 percent of the cost of the operation, and as her parents, they don’t have sufficient funds to cover the other 20 percent.

Chantell would greatly appreciate any donations or sponsorship to help them raise funds for Amy’s operation and urges everyone to support this good cause.

The clubhouse is located at the Red Zone, Unit 8, Lot 50 Junction Road, Shelly Beach.
