Larry’s Family Restaurant opens second branch in Uvongo

There is a great deal of excitement going on at Larry’s Family Restaurant as they have just opened their second restaurant in Uvongo.

Otto Holtzhausen bought the Margate restaurant in 2003 and together with his son Liaan, have grown it from strength to strength.

“Over the years, the Margate branch has been popular with locals and holidaymakers alike for its good food and friendly, family atmosphere,” said Liaan.

“We wanted to expand the brand, so when this upmarket property at Saint’s View on Uvongo beachfront became available, we jumped at the opportunity.

“It’s a fantastic venue and the location is superb with 180 degree ocean views. What’s so great about it is that now we have the space to offer families a children’s play area, which we couldn’t do in Margate and it’s the perfect location for any function.

“The restaurants are both fully licensed and at the new premises, customers can enjoy the wonderful vibe, with a lovely bar area and outdoor seating.  People seem to think that we are closing the restaurant on Margate beachfront, but this is definitely not the case. It is basically an extension of the business, a second branch to cope with the growing demand,” Liaan added.

“We are also committed to continual staff training to ensure our customer experience is the very best. The quality of our food has always remained high, with our most popular dishes including the delicious seafood, grills, pizza and burgers. Plus our ribs, which are considered the best on the coast,” he smiled.

“We will also soon be implementing the name boards again. This was a concept started in 1993 and became so popular with diners that over the years more than 20 000 boards were collected.”

There is plenty of parking available and the restaurants are open seven days a week, from 10am – 9pm, and in-season and weekends from 9am-10pm.
