Upgrade of elevators underway at Port Shepstone Hospital

The renovations will improve the quality of service at the hospital.

Port Shepstone Regional Hospital management was delighted to learn recently of the major elevator renovations that have been approved to take place at the hospital during the course of the year.

The renovations will improve the quality of service in the hospital, enabling staff, healthcare users, patients and visitors to move with ease between the various floors of the building.

Hospital spokesman Phumza Morai said engineers from Otis and the chief electrical engineer from the provincial Department of Health assured hospital management that every effort will be made to maintain services while the renovations are taking place.

“To minimise service interruption, the work will be done in phases until all the old lifts are fully upgraded. In as much as health and safety measures will be maintained, the hospital management pleads with members of the public to apply caution and exercise patience during this period,” she said.
