Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Arts and Culture proudly presents ‘Thunga uThimule’ – a reflective exhibition by Nhlanhla Benjamin Nsusha, at the Margate Art Museum until July 23.

Ben Nsusha is widely recognised as an influential and multi-talented artist and has shared his arts in some of the most influential cities in the world, including New York, Australia, London, Germany, Johannesburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Soweto.
In this exhibition, his first since the year 2000, audiences will get a glimpse of an imaginative reflection of his life over the past 25 years.
His observations of people, society and things have culminated in an extensive 67-piece exhibition that includes ceramics, sculpture, print-making and paintings – some of which he has worked on for 15 to 26 years.
Other than his formal education at Rorke’s Drift Art School and then the Slade Art School of London, Ben learnt the technique of weaving from his mother.
She was a proficient basket weaver whose techniques led Ben to create his own way of framing or contextualising some of his works.
From his father he learnt how to be technical in his approach to things.
