Burglars ‘wing’ it after Scottburgh KFC robbery

When the manager entered the office, he discovered that the safe had been removed from its original position and that the office had been ransacked.

The KFC branch in Scott Street, Scottburgh was burgled in the early hours of last Saturday, May 18.

“The manager opened the fast food outlet that morning and noticed a burning smell as if an angle grinder had been used,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

When he entered the office, he discovered that the safe had been removed from its original position and that the office had been ransacked.

Two safes in the store had been cut open and an undisclosed sum of cash taken. A computer screen was also stolen.

It is thought that the burglars gained access into the building through the roof after they had seen that the ceiling board was damaged.
