Port Shepstone Regional Hospital wins awards

Judges rated the competitors based on the scores attained and the impact their service made in improving the lives of patients in 2018.

Port Shepstone Regional Hospital is thrilled to have received two awards (silver and bronze) at the MEC’s Service Excellence Awards (MSEA),  presented at a glittering function at the Royal Show Grounds in Pietermaritzburg recently.

The silver award was for achieving  second position in the National Core Standards category while the bronze award was for best performance in neonatal services.

The competition was open to all government health facilities in KwaZulu-Natal and the judges rated the competitors based on the scores attained and the impact their service made in improving the lives of patients in 2018.

Sister Duduzile Ndlovu, an operational manager from the forensic unit of the hospital was named runner-up in the 2018 Marilyn Lahana Awards for her willingness to go the extra mile in caring for victims of gender-based violence.

“Management recognises the fact that these achievements are a result of our staff’s consistent efforts in creating an environment for continuous improvement in rendering services, and they are congratulated for a job well done,” said hospital spokesman, Phumza Morai.
