Woman sjamboked to death in Betania

A suspect is due to appear in court today (Friday).

A man was arrested by Port Shepstone SAPS after he allegedly beat his wife so severely she later died from her injuries.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge said the man (43) is accused of assaulting his wife (35) with a sjambok in Betania last month.

“The man made his first court appearance on April 23 and remains in police custody. He is due to appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court today, Friday, May 3,” said Capt Mpinge.
