Airmen to meet

The Lower South Coast branch of the South African Air Force Association (SAAFA) kicks off its 2019 activities next weekend.

Members and those interested in the association are invited to a luncheon at the Village Bowling Club at Margate Retirement Village on Saturday, February 10 at 12pm.

Open day

Southcity Christian School in Ramsgate will hold an open evening next Thursday (7th).

The school caters for pupils from pre-primary, junior primary, preparatory and college. The evening is aimed at parents of pupils from grade 8 to 11 and takes places in the auditorium from 5.30pm.

Brothers rock

Ramsgate’s iconic music venue Rocky Ridge will host the fabulous Hinds Brothers this Friday (1st). Aden and Wren Hinds who first began performing way back in 2008 are delighted to be playing in their hometown. Take note the doors and kitchen at Rocky Ridge open at 6pm and the Hinds Brothers, who have performed at almost every music festival in South Africa, will be on stage from 8pm. Entry is R50.

Sad news

Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Ingrid Berry from Margate who died at South Coast Hospice on Monday this week.

Ingrid (59) worked as a DTP operator with her brother Arnie and sister-in-law Sandy Hofmann at Impact Printers in Ramsgate since it opened.

She leaves behind two sons, Warren and Robert.

Congratulations

Best wishes and many happy ever afters go to Kerryn and Rowan Adamson who `tied the knot’ last Saturday.

And to former Hibiscus Queen, Roberta Alessandri and Jon Ivins who were married last Saturday.

Roelof Bos from Ramsgate is a great-grandpa again – Harlow Lacy James – was born in Auckland, New Zealand on January 24. Her parents are Ryan and Courtney (Roelof’s granddaughter) and she has a big brother Fox (2). Roelof hopes it won’t be too long before the James family comes to visit so he can meet the latest addition.
