Cansa Relay this Saturday or Walk for life this Saturday

School teams are encouraged to take part in the event as it is a safe venue with no alcohol or smoking.

The annual Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) Relay For Life’s 12-hour event will this year be held at Suid-Natal Primary on October 27 and 28 from 2pm to 2am.

What makes this event different from other fund-raisers is that the Relay For Life event ‘celebrates, remembers and fights back’.

This year Suid-Natal High’s 2019 prefects would like to challenge all other local schools to take part in the relay.

It is a safe venue, with no alcohol or smoking.

During the 12 hours there will be entertainment on the main stage, including various Relay for Life ceremonies, singing, dancing, Zumba, team activities and a fun lap every hour on the hour

Teams of 10 to 15 people camp around the track and take turns in walking around the track in relay fashion.

One person from each team has to be walking at any given time.

Caregiver Ranjinee Ramdeen (left) and cancer survivor Anitha Jayram urge everyone to support the Cansa Relay For Life event this Saturday.

The registration fee is R500 for adult teams or R350 for school/youth teams – with the option of further fund-raising.
