Man attempts to rape 11-year-old girl at Clansthal beach

The girl's mother opened a case of sexual assault at the Umkomaas police station.

A man in his 40s attempted raping an 11-year-old girl at Clansthal beach recently.

It is believed that the victim was with her two friends, playing at the beach, when they were approached by the man.

Reports indicate that the man then attacked the young girl and pushed her to the ground as he molested and attempted to rape her.

The girls all began screaming and the man then fled into the bushes nearby.

Members from Umkomaas Saps arrived at the scene and, through other companies and security services, they managed to find the man and arrest him.

The mother of the 11-year-old opened a case of sexual assault at the Umkomaas police station.

The accused made an appearance in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court facing charges of attempted rape. He was transferred to the Umzinto prison.
