URGENT: SPCA left high and dry after thieves make off with pet food

The community is again asked to dig deep and give generously.

The Lower South Coast SPCA has been dealt with another blow  – this time, brazen thieves have emptied the society’s garage of all its pet food.

Intruders removed the lock and fitting from the garage last night (Sunday) and made off with the SPCA’s generator, bush cutter and about 300 kilograms of pet food.

The lock and fitting were broken.

Community members have already rallied to generously donate pet food, and they are thanked by the staff.

The pet food donated so far.

Last Friday, a statement was released on the SPCA Lower South’s Facebook page about the departure of general manager, Michael Muller.

“It was through mutual agreement that his contract with the SPCA has been terminated. We are saddened by his departure and wish him and his family all the best going forward. We appreciate Michael’s dedication and service over the past five years,” read the post.

Anyone who can assist with pet food is asked to drop this off at the Uvongo premises or contact Dalene Erasmus at 072 878 5721.
