Jarrod and Mercia scoop top spots at South Coast Herald Longest Drive Challenge

Ninety-one golfers, including 12 development players, teed it up at the Port Shepstone Country Club last Saturday in a test of skill and strength to see who could drive the ball the furthest.

Why? To stand a chance of winning some wonderful prizes in this, the first-ever South Coast Herald Longest Drive Challenge.

In the men’s section, Jarrod Northcote of Kloof walked off with first prize – a Megamaster gas braai. Jarrod managed to hit the ball an astounding 289m.

Mercia Goldswain of Roodepoort took top honours in the ladies’ section with a strike of  264m, also earning herself a Megamaster gas braai.
