Armed robbery leaves Amandawe family stranded

The victims were then forced into their own vehicle and were driven to Mfume.

A case of house robbery was registered at the Scottburgh Saps after a family from Amandawe was robbed at their home, then apparently man-handled into their own vehicle and driven to another area, where they then released.

A man and woman were apparently in their Amandawe home at about 8.30pm, with their two daughters and two others, when they were approached by three men, one of whom had a firearm.

They were then robbed of an undisclosed sum of cash, cellphones, liquor and a firearm.

“The victims were then forced into their own vehicle and were driven to Mfume where they were left stranded,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.

The family was eventually helped by people in the neighbourhood where they had been dumped and the police were contacted. Investigations continue.
