The accused, charged with the distribution of film with sexual content, was again present without his legal representation. However, family members were present to show their support.
It was established that the accused’s attorney had been admitted to hospital and would only be discharged the following day.

It emerged during proceedings that the specialist report, which had been outstanding for near two years, had still not been made available.
Temporary counsel for the accused requested that the matter be postponed.
However, state council interjected, saying that the matter was long overdue and should be dealt with. The magistrate opted to postpone the case provisionally to May 22, when it is expected that a trial date will be set.

The accused’ grandmother stood up during court proceedings and attempted to hand a phone to state counsel but she tripped and fell part-way down a flight of stairs. She sustained no visible injuries but business was disrupted momentarily.
Following his arrest back in 2015, a laptop containing thousands of child abuse images and videos was found. Among the other items seized were a plastic child blow-up doll, five cellphones, two secure digital memory cards, 80 compact discs, two iPads, two desktop computers and two external hard drives. Various costumes, dresses and panties were also found.
The man’s grandmother, with whom he lives, has said that he liked to pretend to be a girl and dressed up as such.
