Denise Millar takes over presidency of flourishing Tuesday Rostrum club

Tuesday Rostrum membership is open to all South Coast women and guests, including men, are welcome to attend the monthly luncheon.

Tuesday Rostrum held its annual general meeting at Mbango Valley recently, where Rostrum members thanked the outgoing president Bev Barker for a wonderful and prosperous year and welcomed incoming committee members Phyllis Bennett, Kitty Steenmans, Elsie Pretorius, Sarah Lord, Carol Aveyard, Heather Greyling and Bev Barker.

Reviewing the year, outgoing president Bev thanked members for their continued support, her fellow committee members for their hard work and dedication and the Mbango team for their hospitality.

Bev inducted Denise Millar as president for the next two years and Denise presented Bev with a past president badge. President Denise thanked Bev on behalf of everyone for her dedication to Tuesday Rostrum.

Tuesday Rostrum membership is open to all South Coast women. Guests, including men, are welcome to attend the monthly luncheon and talks that are held at Mbango on the second Tuesday of the month, at noon. The committee books the best possible speakers, who present talks on a wide range of subjects.

The next Rostrum meeting will be on May 8 and will feature Gillian Smith, who will present a talk on “King George V and Queen Mary: Behind Closed Doors”.
