Glen Preston of Med-Evac said paramedics responded but despite their efforts to resuscitate him, the man sadly died at the scene.

Other members of the community had also rushed to the scene to help.

It’s alleged at this stage that Mr Nash had driven into a telephone cable hanging across the road.

An on-site inspection this morning revealed that the cable is still lying across the road, off Rethman Drive, past the former UTI building, near the Sugar Mill houses.
