Breaking: N2 smash near Umgababa leaves 2 dead, 19 injured (WATCH)

N2 southbound is closed from before the Ultra City and traffic is being diverted onto the R102.

An accident involving a taxi and a SUV in the southbound lane of the N2 near the Ultra City at Umgababa is believed to have left at least two people dead and 19 injured.

Shawn Herbst of Netcare 911 said both drivers had been killed.

“Traffic is severely affected, as police have not closed the road as yet,” he said.
