Hibberdene Happenings: ‘Mrs Mac’ will be sorely missed

Jean had not been well for quite a long time and was in and out of hospital over the last few years.

IT WAS with sadness that the community learnt of the death of Jean McDonald last Thursday. ‘Mrs Mac’, as she was fondly referred to, had not been well for quite a long time and was in and out of hospital over the last few years. Jean will be greatly missed, having been a staunch member of the Methodist Church and the now defunct Shafts Association. Her funeral took place at the Methodist Church yesterday and deepest sympathy is extended to her husband Cecil, son Barry and her many grandchildren, in whose lives she played an integral part, and her great-grandchildren.

Diarise breakfast

Last Saturday’s Methodist men’s breakfast had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances and the organisers apologise for any inconvenience caused. Do not despair however, as Mizpah Church’s breakfast is coming up the Saturday after next, April 21st. And the Hare Krishna Service Centre will also be holding its enlightening session at the town hall on Saturday, April 21. All are welcome to attend and supper will be served.
