Tweni Talk: Search for ‘treasure’ tomorrow

Don’t forget the treasure hunt on Tweni beach tomorrow (Sunday).

Tweni beach pre-Easter clean-up on Saturday was a success thanks to everyone who pitched in. Even the retaining wall in the parking lot had a makeover. There was a last-minute change of times from 7am to 9am but a good job to the organisers.

Deterrent

Vehicles are being targeted in yards. Please try and leave outside lights on as a deterrent. There was a vehicle window broken in Stapleton Road, luckily nothing taken, perhaps they were disturbed, also Med-Evac base had a vehicle broken into on Saturday night.

Please report anything suspicious on the WhatsApp groups. If you live in Umtentweni and are not on a sector group, send an email to tweniwatch@gmail.com, with your name, address, lot number, mobile number and security company if you have one and you will be added to the database.

The same goes if you leave the area – send an email as sometimes we find we have more than one family supposedly staying on the same property. Let’s look out for each other.

An abandoned vehicle reportedly parked in Old St Faith’s for the weekend checked out to have cloned ND number plates.

There was a tree down blocking Abingdon Road near the library on the 23rd. Thanks to Yvonne Lawlor for reporting it at 039 6825555. The cleansing department was sent out to clear the road and did a good job.

Pot of gold

Sunday’s rainfall brought us an amazing double rainbow which was seen up and down the coast line, resulting in some awesome photographs.

Happy hols

Schools closed on March 28, and reopen on April 10th. Happy holidays to all the children and parents.

Treasure Hunt

Don’t forget the treasure hunt on Tweni beach this Sunday, April 1. Late registration from 10am – hunt starts at 11am. It won’t be a mad dash as the oganisers will group the appropriate ages to be fair to everyone. Delicious home-made cupcakes will be on sale and remember these funds go towards the Tweni CCTV security cameras project upgrade.
