Makhophila Training graduates honored at Scottburgh Town Hall

The training academy took 170 unemployed youth from three municipal areas, one of which being Umdoni Municipality.

MAKHOPHILA Training is an accredited training provider that provides training throughout KZN.

The training academy recently took 170 unemployed youth from three municipal areas under its wing, one of which being Umdoni Municipality.

The project began in October 2016 and was completed in October 2017.

The 12 months’ learnership included classroom training and practical workplace training.

On Monday morning, the class of 2017 had its End User Computing Learner Graduation at the Scottburgh Town Hall with 51 graduates.

Special awards went to Manqoba Madlala, who was the class’s overall top achiever.

Nombusa Nala, who was given the award for ‘Most Improved’ and Mxolisi Mnyandu, who was not present on the day, was given a special award.

Besides the graduates and their families and friends attending, guests included members from Umdoni Municipality, the Department of Education and even ETDP SETA (Education, Training and Development Practices – Sector Education and Training Authority).

Guests on the day included Trevor Shezi who gave a very motivational speech to the graduates.

Other special guests included Nonhlanhla Nombika, Megan Makhosi Ngiba, Bongiwe Mbatha, Gillian le Grange and Segran Naidoo with Umdoni Municipality representatives (seated from left) Deputy Mayor Councillor Sibongile Khathi and Councillor Nombuso Mpanza Mngadi.
