Tuesday Rostrum members celebrate with festive brunch
The Tuesday Rostrum Christmas brunch was absolutely fabulous.
AFTER a year of thoughtful, intellectually stimulating lunches, members of the so-called ‘thinking women’s club,’ were more than ready to relax and let their hair down at the Tuesday Rostrum Christmas brunch at San Lameer last week.

And what a festive start to the festive season it was. Over the years this annual bash has become one of the most popular and liveliest South Coast festive season events and, this year, the committee members once again ensured it lived up to its grand reputation. It was absolutely fabulous.
The buffet brunch was delicious and the venue looked spectacular but it was the guest entertainer, larger than life singer, funny man and impersonator Danny Fisher, that made the celebration such great fun.
A former Port Edward resident, Danny has won acclaim and a well-deserved reputation as a first class entertainer since he left this area and spread his wings many years ago.
However, coming home to the South Coast seemed to bring out the very best in him. He was on top form, growing funnier and funnier by the minute, his gorgeous Scottish accent broader with each joke.
As for his wonderfully rich voice and wide and varied repertoire of songs through the decades – it was soon obvious why this charming and talented musician is known as ‘The Voice’. He soon had the whole room clapping and singing along.
He also showed off his formidable talents as an impersonator, using a couple of wigs to transform himself into a galaxy of stars, including Roy Orbison, Rod Stewart and Elvis.
As for his grizzled Kenny Rogers beard – he swore it was made from Jack Russell hairs. After a couple of hours of watching his crazy antics, his audience was ready to believe anything he said.
The annual Christmas brunch also highlighted the warm and friendly nature of Tuesday Rostrum, these attributes adding plenty of Christmas glitter to the festive occasion. And, with another very successful year under their belts, the committee and members fully deserved this sparkling celebration.
