Clowns Dylan and Bianca van Tonder handed out flyers, which had a big impact on drawing in the crowds. This monthly event raises funds for TCW cameras and Greensparks Education.

Having music sets a great vibe for the day and Mike Davies is thanked for the loan of his amplifier. Your scribe saw quite a few people who were unable to keep their feet still.

Maiden voyage

Don Solomon from Umtentweni has just completed building his first ski-boat and launched it last weekend. His sons Kyle and Riley helped him and the three spent a wonderful afternoon on the river. A job well done Don.

Thank you

Marie Harley asked your scribe to relay the following message: “Thank you to the community for showing me so much kind-heartedness. I was overwhelmed by the gifts, caring words and attention shown to me. I am on a massive spring clean and tidy up at home at the moment.”

Happy travels

Sandy and Ken Morris are popping over to England and Scotland for a family wedding then back to England to visit family and Dianne and Alt Visser are off to England to visit family for some quality time.

It will be a wonderful break for everyone. Pam Rheeder will also be taking to the skies soon and rumour has it that England is cold right now, which is unusual for mid-summer.

Sad news

Condolences to Jean Masson and Chrissy Wilson on the recent death of their beloved mom. Also to Cheryl Rickson’s family and friends, it’s never easy saying goodbye. RIP.

Include your name, address, lot number, mobile number and whether you are linked to a security company. Umtentweni has been divided into five sectors, each with a sector leader.

The five groups are solely for reporting crime issues and no chatting is allowed. There is a Tweni Care Group, which is more lenient and can be used for reporting issues like no water supply, lost animals or asking for assistance.

Donovan Solomon (back) of Umtentweni recently finished building his own ski-boat and sons Kyle (middle) and Riley spent a lovely afternoon on the river after launching the new boat last weekend.

There is also a buyer and seller group for advertising. Happy birthday to likeable local Gordon Dickson for Monday (August 7). Please remember to send news to 0823051799@vodamail.co.za or call Leila at 082 3761853.
