Minibus taxi driver shot dead in KwaMadlala

The 64-year-old man had been shot multiple times.

A MAN believed to be a taxi owner was gunned down in Chabane Ward, KwaMadlala last Friday evening.

According to police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, “The man’s son drove to the area after he was told that gunshots had been heard. When he arrived, he found his father in a minibus taxi with gunshot woulds which proved fatal.”

Police were called and found several spent cartridges at the scene.

It is believed that the taxi owner was alone in the minibus when he was shot.

A murder docket was opened and Southport police are investigating the motive for the murder.

No arrests have been made.

According to police the man has not been officially identified.
