FOURTEEN schoolchildren were injured in an accident earlier this morning when the bakkie transporting them veered off the road and struck a pole in the Umzinto central business district.

The collision occurred shortly before 7am.

The children, aged between 10 and 14 years old, were treated at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
