PURE Venom Reptile Park’s snake catcher, Sarel van der Merwe, caught a 1.8-metre green mamba in Merlewood last Wednesday, from the same room from which he removed another snake in November last year.
As Sarel entered the room, he saw the snake hanging from the roof.
Jokingly, Sarel said he also saw a happy rat running out of the room.
He advised people keep their environments clean and vermin-free as rats would attract snakes to the area.
