Scottburgh doctor arrested for possession of cocaine and ecstasy

Surprisingly, the 40-year-old doctor was found to be in possession of drugs - and definitely not the kind you get a prescription for.

SUSPICIOUS and nervous behaviour is what prompted Umzinto K9 unit officer, Warrant Officer Max Khan to pull over and search a vehicle belonging to a GJ Crookes Hospital doctor.

Surprisingly, the 40-year-old doctor was found to be in possession of drugs and definitely not the kind you get a prescription for.

One tablet of ecstasy and four straws of cocaine were found in the pocket of the driver’s shirt, said Port Shepstone SAPS communications officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

W/O Khan and Constable Weidon Govender from the Scottburgh SAPS Detective Service detained the doctor.

He appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court where the case was remanded to March 10.
