Support this Pink Drive event

People in wheelchairs are invited to take part in this fun walk, run or cycle.

THINK pink, wear pink and support the annual Pink Drive charity fun run, walk or cycle, starting at the Uvongo fishing pier side of Lilliecrona Boulevard on Friday, December 16, at 8am.

Organiser Deborah Berridge also issues a special invitation to people in wheelchairs to take part.

“The route is fairly flat and is suitable for wheelchairs. Hopefully, taking part will inspire these athletes to take part in more races,” she said.

Entry fee is R25 and proceeds will be used for breast cancer research. Registration is at 7.30am. Runners, walkers and cyclists of all ages are welcome to take part and they all stand a chance of winning a wonderful little keepsake of the event. Local singer Judy Smith and talented youngsters from the Rehoboth Children’s Home are recycling baubles and beads to create sparkling handmade keyrings.

Vera Reynolds and Corinne Parsons have donated most of the beads. Deborah Berridge thanks the regular volunteers who have come aboard to help her again this year. Nashua South Coast has kindly donated advertising pamphlets and some prizes and Southcoast Mall has donated prizes as well.
