No water for days

Ugu says restoration time is 'unknown' at this stage.

DUE to a burst pipe, Hibberdene and Tweni residents spent the weekend with dry taps.

A resident from Hibberdene says she’s had enough.

“We’ve had no water the entire weekend, but we see water running down the road, how is that possible?” she asked.

Meanwhile, Marburg, Albersville, Port Shepstone and Oslo Beach have also suffered a dry spell.

An irate mother from Marburg voiced out her concerns.

“I have a two month old baby, It’s really difficult to get through the day without water and I don’t think it’s healthy at all.”

According to Ugu, the interruption to supply were due to a number of burst pipes in the following areas:

* Hibberdene to Tweni: Burst pipe on river

* Marburg: Short Street

* Port Shepstone: Unity street (Suid Natal High)

* Oslo Beach: Ramsdale Road.

Ugu Spokesman, France Zama said water tankers had been dispatched to all affected areas.

“Work is in progress to restore supply however the restoration time is unknown at this stage.”
