Argument leads to fatal stabbing

The young man was stabbed in the neck.

A MAN was stabbed to death at Mgolomi ward, Mehlomnyama, last Sunday, apparently after an argument.

A group of people were at a tavern when an argument broke out.

A 21-year-old man then left and went to his room.

A few minutes later a 29-year-old man followed  him, and kicked open the door.

A fight started and the younger man was stabbed once in the neck. He later died.

A mere six hours later, Detective Constable Thabane Dlamini, stationed at Mehlomnyama police station, arrested the suspect. Constable Nkosinathi Mkhwane assisted with the arrrest.

“The suspect had a head injury from the previous night’s fight and received treatment at a clinic before he was detained in the police cells,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

He will appear in court tomorrow (Wednesday) where he will face a charge of murder.

In an unrelated incident,  D/Cst Dlamini last Saturday arrested a man (26) who had been on the run from the police since April last year, following a housebreaking in Tin Town, Mehlomnyama. Investigations linked the suspect to the crime.

It is expected that he will also be linked to four more housebreaking cases in the area.
