Selborne suspects appear in court

Police recovered a rare bottle of expensive liquor that had been stolen during the house robbery.

SELBORNE residents had a rude awakening following a robbery and two burglaries earlier in June.

A Selborne resident was robbed in her flat on June 12, at around 3.15am, by three knife-wielding men who had gained entry through a sliding door.

The intruders fled with two cellphones, a laptop, a flat screen television, liquor and jewellery.

“That very morning, two other flats in the same block were burgled. The sliding doors were forced open to gain entry into those flats also but the occupants were unaware as they were asleep.

“Among the items stolen were a flat screen TV and a PlayStation console from one of the two flats,” said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.

Following up on information received later that day, members of the Scottburgh Cluster Detective Task Team and police reservists from the Scottburgh SAPS went to Malangeni in search of one of the suspects.

The suspect fled upon spotting the police.
