New chapter for library

A three storey building is being built.

PORT SHEPSTONE library is currently being upgraded to a three storey building.

The new library is set to feature two group activity rooms, an educational toy section, gaming room with Playstation, group discussions rooms, a covered outdoor area and a wi-fi hot spot.

Hibiscus Coast Municipality spokesman Simon April said unique features of the facility will include a fully fledged Cyber Café which will be built to accommodate people with special needs and an area that will house computers for partially sighted and blind people.

“Parking areas will be available to accommodate the users of the library and the Port Sheptone Civic Centre.”

Work on the project will last for 20 months and is expected to be completed at the end of Februrary 2018.

“We plead for tolerance with the users of the Port Shepstone library during this construction period since some sections will not be functioning and we apologise for the inconvenience that may be caused.”
