Firearm stolen in daylight robbery

The kitchen door and security gate had been forced open to gain entry into the property.

BROKEN into and cleaned out, a Scottburgh property was burgled sometime between the hours of 7.30am and 6pm lst Friday.

“A house in David Road, Scottburgh South, was broken into,” confirmed Scottburgh SAPS communications officer Captain Vincent Pandarum.

Allegedly stolen during the burglary were a variety of kitchen appliances, diving equipment, a DVD player, laptop, music system and a tablet.

A pistol was also among the items taken.

“The resident apparently left for work at approximately 7.30am and, when he returned at 6pm, discovered that his home had been burgled,” said Captain Pandarum.

The kitchen door and security gate had been forced open to gain entry into the property.

Nobody has been arrested as yet.

The case is being investigated by Detective Constable Weidon Govender of the Scottburgh Cluster Detective Task Team.
