Card cloners strike again

Please be extremely careful when using ATMs.

A 41-year-old Amandawe woman went to withdraw money from the FNB ATM in Scott Street recently. Her bank card was retained by the ATM.

The woman spotted a man who had returned to the ATM.

He told her that he had forgotten to take his bank statement and pressed ‘cancel’ on the ATM’s keypad –  Scottburgh SAPS communications officer Captain Vincent Pandarum.

The unsuspecting victim only learnt that she had lost her money when she received an sms notifying her of a withdrawal having been made at an ATM in the Scottburgh Mall.

The case is being investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Strini Maistry of the Scottburgh SAPS Detective Service.
