Shiro scoops scores of awards

The talented show dog has won a basket full of trophies.

FOLLOWING in the paw steps of the South Coast’s amazing Scooby Frey, Shiro Pretorius, also a toy poodle, has won an array of awards at the annual KwaZulu-Natal dog agility association 2015 awards.

She made a clean sweep of all the trophies in her mini group. She also won the following awards: Contact and non contact grade 3 mini, dog jumping grade 3, top achiever 2015, golden oldie 2015 for oldest dog competing, Hooch Trophy for overall mini dog.

Shiro, aged nine years, has at times really pushed the boundaries in training. Elsie Pretorius, her owner, said that one of Shiro’s favorite pastimes is going off the course and saying ‘hello’ to the judge which would result in an instant disqualification, but perseverance has definitely paid off.

Elsie and Shiro train at the Douglas Mitchell grounds in Uvongo with Pawsome Agility Group. Elsie specially thanked their trainers Gail Taylor and Barbara Egan and the handlers at Pawsome Agility for all their support, encouragement and training.
